Elder Dalton Stott: Miracles in Merimbula

Man I Love it Here!!!!!!

Hi everybody and Hi mom and dad!!!:) Wow what a week that has just flown by and been so much fun and what an amazing area Merimbula is and man I love it here!!!! It's so good to be back out into the country and in a small branch I feel just so much more at home. Don't get me wrong I loved it in MacArthur and that place changed my life and I met some amazing people there but I just feel so much more comfortable out in a smaller town doing the work of the Lord. I just want to say that I love it here in Merimbula!!! It's so beautiful here and the people are awesome and the work is great and man I just love it so much!!!!:):):):) So I'll just tell you about the week.

The Week!!!!

Monday of course was transfer day which you guys already know about and our awesome lesson that we had with D_____ who is the man and I'll tell you more about.:)

Tuesday was P-Day and so after emails we went and did shopping some groceries and oh quick side note I hope it's okay I have to buy some stuff today haha some better service clothes and stuff so hope that's okay. Anyways after shopping we went on a walk down on the beach and pretty much spent the whole afternoon on the beach there is this island that we can walk out onto when it is low tide so we went out there and walked along the beach and we took our shoes off haha and it was heaps nice to walk in the sand and we got our feet wet but that's it haha cuz we can't go swimming. Ya dad there is a beach ban during the summer time so were not allowed on the beach but President will let us know when that starts but until then we are allowed to go on. Tuesday night we went back and made dinner and then did we set some goals for our companionship and things we want to accomplish this transfer. It was real good. Since were back out in the country missionary work pretty much stops at dark (6ish) cuz people get real mad and sometimes it's dangerous with all the animals unless of course if we have an appointment or something.

Wednesday was a day full of service. In the morning we went and helped an older couple they are actually one of the members in the branch so we helped them in the morning kind of do some gardening and cleaning up around the yard and then that afternoon we went over to a members home Brother and Sister P_____ home and helped them out. They have a pretty big property out in the country and so we cleaned up there place and then we burned all of it. Haha it's was just branches and weeds and sticks and stuff so I guess they can do that haha so we had a really big fire going.:) That night we had dinner with the P_____ and we had Brekky for dinner (breakfast) and they have a daughter who came over who is less-active, she married a non-member and his name is M____ and he is a big golfer!!! He is really good to. He was telling me that he went and played on the Canadian Tour and the Tour down in Mexico for a couple of years and said it was heaps fun. So we are going to try to get in with him haha cuz I golf and see what happens hopefully we can go golfing with him sometime. Man it's awesome!!! Merimbula is a big golf town and there are courses everywhere and so hopefully we can use that as a teaching opportunity and to maybe play some golf.:)

Thursday haha was another day full of service. Haha we do a lot of service a lot like Mudgee and I love it and it's fun to do and help people out. So we helped in the morning a member get his boat off of his truck because they had just gotten back from a trip that was fun and interesting because we had to suspend it in the air from the ceiling but we got it with no injuries. Oh ya haha the roof. Ya I'll try to be careful and not fall off and my arm is doing really good it's almost fully healed and it's not that bad.:) That afternoon we went out to the S______ N____and J____ S______ if you want to find them on Facebook they are very techy and stuff so I'm sure they would love to be friends. Anyways so ya we went out there and are helping them right now build a home gym in there backyard for them to work out in. It's pretty crazy...they started on it a couple of weeks ago and it's just like a little house. Right now the walls are up and we are starting to work on the roof. I'll try to remember to take some pics this week and send them next week. Haha I hope you like all of the pictures. So ya that afternoon we worked on there gym and it was good and then had dinner with them that night and everything. It's really cool because we spend a lot of time with the members out here just helping them out and President has asked us to do that because there are only about 35-40ish active members and so he wants us to spend a lot of time with them and help them out with whatever we can do and so it's good fun.:)

Friday so Friday morning we had DTM and it's heaps different how we do DTM here because everybody else in our zone is in Canberra which is 3 hours away we just have DTM just over the phone with the rest of the District so we just come to the chapel and listen off of the phone and stuff. :) Haha it's heaps different but it's fun to. Friday afternoon we went and did service for a place called Mandeni Dad you might have seen it when you were lookin around on Google Drive. Anyway it is like a Fun Park type place that has archery shooting, boat racing, a mountain bike trail, mini golf, and this sweet driving range where you hit the golf balls into a lake and there is a target in the middle that you try to hit. So we usually do service for them to help them out and let the community know that we are here to help and then after they usually give us a bucket of golf balls to hit haha so we got to hit a bucket into the pond and it was sweet!!! Haha I was pretty rusty though but by the end I was hitting them pretty good.:) I'll have to get good if we want to go golfing with M_____ and share the Gospel with him.:) After that we went to the S_______ again haha we spend a lot of time over there they are a lot like the P_____ family in Mudgee but we went over there and Sister S______ taught us how to make really easy cookies and haha man there super good!!! It's a really easy recipe so we are gonna make them a lot.:) Me and Elder Newman are both also going to try and improve our cooking skills this transfer and see what we can make up. Yep and then that evening we went back and had dinner and did our weekly planning session which was great!!

Saturday in the morning we do a park run with the community and some of the members. It's a 5k fun run and it was heaps of fun. Haha it had been ages since I ran last but I was running with one of the S____ kids we were pretty good for each other haha we did a lot of walking cuz they would run really fast for a little bit and then walk and then keep doing that but that's okay.:) Then we had our MCM meeting with our Branch Mission Leader Brother S___ P____ Brother and Sister P_____ son it was a great meeting, this Branch is run very organized and it's awsome!!! That afternoon we went and helped the S_______ get firewood so we went up and cut down the trees and cut it all up and got a trailer full it was hard work and haha at the end of the day we were real tired from the run and getting firewood.

Sunday was the Best!!

Haha Sunday's are always the best!! So our church starts at 10 and so we show up at about 9 to get everything ready and we are in charge of the Sacrament so we got everything ready. I"ll try to remember to take some pics of the chapel this week and also of the flat to send next week. Anyways do yous remember D_____ our investigator well so he is the man and he came to church yesterday!!! It was awesome and we had an amazing lesson with him about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Spirit was so powerful!!! We invited him to be baptized and he accepted!!!! We are working with him towards October 1 for his baptism and we are so excited for him and he is the man!!!! Thank you guys for your prayers for him they are really working and me and Elder Newman wanted to fast once a week for our Area and the people we are working with and we are already seeing miracles and blessings because of it. I love the scripture Ether 12:12-15 love it!!!!! We are meeting with him again tonight for another lesson at the S_______ home and keep helping him. We also have another investigator named W_____ but right now she is on holiday over in England and won't get back for 5 weeks but once she gets back we will keep working with her. The branch is great and ya there is about 35ish active members and our branch president President W_____ is awesome!!!!

Well I gotta get goin but things are awesome down here in Merimubla!!! Sorry it's not to much info we have some plans for P-day today but we will talk more next week. Love you guys!!!

Hard Work is the Best!!

Thanks for all of your prayers for D____ they really are working and the work is going great here!!! We are really focusing on just putting our heads down and working hard and being exactly obedient and we are seeing miracles come from it already. Love yous heaps. Remind me to tell you guys about something President Back told me in my letter this week next week it was really cool and I would love to share it with yous. Sorry for the short time.
